Nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, is a sedation option that offers light sedation for mild to moderately anxious patients, or anyone who would benefit from feeling calmer during a dental visit. Nitrous oxide is administered through a mask that is worn over your nose. The mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is inhaled through the mask, and helps you to relax and remain calm and comfortable during your dental treatment.

Nitrous Oxide can be used for both adult and child patients.

Oral sedation is used to offer light to moderate sedation to anxious patients. It is administered by taking one or two prescribed pills of a sedative medication before a procedure or appointment and is strong enough to bring about a feeling of sleepiness without putting you to sleep. This results in you being in a more relaxed state, ultimately helping to alleviate stress or anxiety. The dose is taken 1 hour before your appointment.
